MUSHROMM CLOUD - IN MAD MINUTE (Target Productions/Mighty Music)

                               (Review by Officer Nice)

From out of Denmark comes Mushroom Cloud. This album is their debut and I suppose fans of modern Metal will really adore this one. This trio released a few demos before but this is their official introduction to the world of Heavy Metal.

Fans of bands like In Flames, Machine Head, Mercenary, Children of Bodom etc. will surely like this release. More than once there’s a serious blink of an eye to System Of A Down, love it or hate it. At some points even Iced Earth and Iron Maiden were sources of inspiration. Mushroom Cloud is a very energetic band but they don’t forget to create melody into their tracks. With a modern production, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen, they represent themselves as a very professional band.

This release counts ten songs that will overwhelm the listener without any doubt. The music is very varied and also singer Morten offers lots of differences in his vocal lines. He contains a very strong pair of lungs but his timbre is emotional enough to convince the listener. Also in the leads you can hear and feel these musicians are out to deliver qualitative goods! This effort is very exciting and will give the listener a good feeling. Musical wise this album offers a connection between heavy Metal, Thrash and Death Metal. It contains lots of breaks, the anger is the red line in every note.

No doubts that Mushroom Cloud presents a good debut. This might be a band with a future, a band that will easily maintain the attention of the media and bigger labels. Awesome riffs, good leads, great performances are coming together on this record. Check these guys out at http://www.facebook.com/mushoormclouddk.
