CELLADOR - HONOR FORTH (Cobra Productions)

                              (Review by Officer Nice)

Cellador is an American band that simply stands for quality! This band released a few demos and a full album before and proudly represents their new EP to the world. Unexpected I received a promo-version of this EP and it didn’t took long to give it its first shot! Great band!

Why? Just because Cellador represents anything Power Metal is standing for! Not that they are a typical US Metal band – talking about the style – but the way they perform is impressive! A very good production, four songs that will blow you out of your shoes and the proof this band really needs to be attended by bigger labels.

Fans of Manticora really need to give this band a fair chance, they will be impressed. A mixture of the US style with the European traditions and this with the right sense for what True Metal is standing for. I hear four outstanding songs and one after another finger fast lead is heading my way. This formation delivers me the right power-shot, delivers me a great taste of melody. Cellador proves again to know what superb song writing is all about!

Guitarist/singer Chris Petersen is the perfect front man for this kind of music and contains a vocal sound I really am fond of, comparable with Lars Larsen (Manticora) and Brian Ross (Satan). He contains a clear sound, strong longs and his vocal lines are just outstanding. A good old fashioned cry here and there, what can I expect more? The riffs are razor sharp and often reminds to Iced Earth. Fans of first class guitars will be impressed, it’s a good thing this band owns two guitar players. The keyboards on this one are outstanding too and the main reason why this band makes me think to Manticora. Another point of interest are the drums; this is the ideal kind of music for those who like fast played Metal with lots of double bass drums.

This EP is pretty easy to review. Cellador is a band that deserves a place in your collection and this EP is a ‘must have’ for any Power Metal fan! I can’t wait for the next full album! The four tracks on this EP are enough to keep focused on this band. Check them out at http://www.cellador.com.
