This is the sixth volume of the popular series “Compendium Of Metal” released by one of the most prestigious indie labels called Metal On Metal Records, run by cover artist Jowita Kaminska and her husband Simone. Metal brought these two souls together, this inseparable couple is bonded for life by the forces of Metal which is reflected in all the brilliant releases they’ve brought out so far. Due to the fact that I have a good relationship with this company, it was my pleasure to spread the word about all their precious works, and this time about Compendium Of Metal Vol. 6. This compilation is already a few months old but because of an error in delivery service the review has been perforce delayed. Good Metal is timeless so forget about the delay…
There are a lot of excellent Metal songs to enjoy on this Vol. 6 edition. US Power/Speed Metal act Skelator is the only one that is featured with two songs. ‘Guerreros De Metal’ is previously unreleased on CD and only available as bonus track for the LP version of “Agents Of Power” (2011). ‘Give Me Metal Or Give Me Death’ is also previously unreleased on CD, this live track has been taken from a live tape entitled “Live Chaos” (2013). More previously unreleased songs can be heard, such as a live version of ‘The Vigil’ from Nomad Son recorded at Hammer Of Doom 6 festival 2011. Battlerage rages on with a ‘live in studio’ recording of the song ‘Raw Metal’, Arkham Witch brings a dedicated, alternate vocal version of ‘Legions Of The Deep’. These previously unreleased songs add value to this compilation and there is more rare stuff on offer.
For example US Power/Thrash legends Meliah Rage are featured with a song called ‘These Scars’, musically recorded in 2011, with vocals added this year – the band presents their new singer here. As far as I am concerned this is the right person that belongs in a great band like Meliah Rage. I was quite disappointed by their latest album but still, my belief in these guys remained strong – I look forward to their forthcoming “Warrior” album! German Traditional Heavy Metal band Metal Law is also present with a preview of their forthcoming new effort entitled “Hellride” which was scheduled to arrive in November 2013 but due to unforeseen circumstances, we can only expect this album in 2014. Anyway, Metal Law is a promising band to me so no problem if I have to wait a little longer actually. Hearing this new song ‘In Metal We Trust’, I’m sure their new album will smack me in the head once again. For now only a second edition of the band’s 2nd album "Lawbreaker" was released in April. Also Mortalicum from Sweden offer their great way of Doom/Heavy Metal/Hard Rock with a song called ‘River Of Despair’. This previously self released track is only available as a limited to hundred copies CD-R, meant as a bonus to last year's "The Endtime Prophecy" CD.
Meanwhile, the new and brilliant albums from US Metal gods Attacker, as well as the mighty strong sophomore album from Germany’s Traditional HM act Sacred Gate have been unleashed. I wrote my thoughts on these masterpieces a while ago, my assessment resulted in a high score for both of them. And recently Metal On Metal Records put out 3 doom metal releases. Nomad Son “The Darkening” CD and another specialty from these Malta based Traditional Doom Metal gods entitled “First Light / Pilgrimages of Doom” which is a second edition of their debut CD and a live DVD! MOM Records also welcomed a new Traditional band from Sweden named Stonegriff and released their debut album “Prologus Magicus”. I like both bands’ style of Doom Metal, it's heavenly beautiful, in the vein of Trouble, Krux, Candlemass, Black Sabbath and so on… awesome! To complete the list of all the bands that participated in this compilation, I have to mention three more awesome bands: Heretic (US Power/Thrash legends), Outrage (old school Black/Thrash) and After Oblivion (technical Death/Thrash). All three are present with one track each from their latest mind blowing efforts “A Time of Crisis”, “Go To Hell” and “Stamina”.
If everything goes according to the plans in the Metal On Metal Records camp, the next two new CDs will be Battlerage “Slaughter God Rising” and Outrage “We The Dead”. Two titles I definitely look forward to. This way, MOM Records can close 2013 in a perfect way so they can already focus on making plans for the next year.

Soon I will write down my thoughts on Nomad Son and newcomer Stonegriff and hope from you to stay tuned. The slogan of Metal On Metal Records goes like “Old School Metal Or No Metal At All” and I’d like to raise my glass of beer to that statement. Hails and cheers!
