Being hailed as the ‘new breed of Scandinavian metal’ by producer Jacob Hansen (Mercenary, Volbeat, Aborted among others), might be a burden for a young band as Aphyxion is. They started around 2006-2007 with a bunch of mid-teen members, and shortly after, they recorded several EP’s and 1 single before taking the big leap: a debut full length album. ‘Earth Entangled’ is the name of the product, and Mighty Music Records was fierce and proud to add them to their roster. The album is going to be released on September 1st 2014, but Metal To Infinity already received a copy to give it a good listen!

‘Transgress’ is the mind-blowing opener and while the guitars are preparing for war, the vocals of Michael Vahl guide us into a rollercoaster of aggressive and wild death/thrash metal with a lot of attention to melodic choruses and strong riffs. The band gathers the heaviness from the Scandinavian Death Metal and combine it with the ass-kicking breakdowns, which is a typical Machine Head issue. The quintet knows exactly how to get a song in a “neck-breaking” mood and how to entertain people with slaughter and debauchery. Tracks like ‘Despicable’, ‘Born Abomination’ and ‘Blind Belief’ include the favorite topics of the band: Death, Hate and Pain.

If you can’t wait until the date of release, I advice the You Tube channel where the first official video of the track ‘The New Breed’ will convince you that Denmark has another highlight for the next coming years! https://da-dk.facebook.com/aphyxion
