JACKAL - CRY OF THE JACKAL (Pure Steel Records/H'Art)

                               (Review by Officer Nice)

At first I was thinking this was a next album of Jackal from out of Denmark. I have three albums of these guys in my collection but soon I realized this wasn’t the Danish band but the one from Holland. I remember the release of their one and only album in 1989 and I also knew it was my kind of music. So yes, the re-release of this forgotten gem is just but good news.

Fans of traditional Metal, Eighties Metal and anything in vein of US Metal will adore this one. This release is as True as it can be and I can only hope the band reunites definitely to appear at for example the Keep It True Festival. This old school Metal just gives me the right kick and I have to admit the Dutch kind of Metal has always been something special to me.

This release is limited so I can only advise to purchase this one as soon as possible. Fans of bands like Warrior, Zaxas, Stryper, Villain, Savage Grace, Siren, Hittman and plenty of other old US Metal bands will surely love this mind blowing album! The production is a bit dated but musical wise this is how Metal should really sound! Check it out at http://www.myspace.com/thereajackal or http://www.jackalmetal.com.
