Metal lives again in the United Kingdom. The cradle of Heavy Metal stood there some decades ago and this country was responsible to spread Heavy Metal all over the entire globe. The scène waned somewhat in the Nineties, only the big bands stood tall but I believe we can say there’s a revival going on there. In different parts of this Island new bands see the light of day and also Scream Anger belongs to the new generation.

As we are used to from Might Records we receive a full CD and I can only thank this label for it. I am even more thankful when I make the first spin of this record. Scream Arena seems to be a very professional sounding band, responsible for a big dose of listening pleasure. I hear one after another good song, heading between more melodic Hard Rock / Heavy Metal all over some AOR at some parts.

Andrew Paul doesn’t have an extraordinary voice but he contains a special timbre which makes the songs sound pretty special. He sings in the lower rates and that fits these melodic arrangements very well. He’s supported by two great guitar players who know how to pull the strings on a catchy way. The songs are varied, mixing hard hitting riffs with calm and peaceful compositions.

Scream Arena seems to be influenced by the kind of melodic Metal that was immense popular in the Eighties, especially in the USA. This band often reminds me of for example Tesla, Blue Murder etc. although there is a bit more of a Rock’n Roll touch if you know what I mean. One after another spectacular lead is anyway heading my way, something fans of this genre really need to witness. It’s as a matter of fact the main reason why I really like this debut album.

Unknown but ready to take the next step! Scream Arena is a promising band that deserves the right attention. Professionalism is without any doubt the key word here, in this summertime it’s the ideal album to take into my car. These guys have a very nice website, although some parts are still under construction. Don’t let it stop you purchasing this one and about the website… Check:
